"Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders Today"

Our History

Lighthouse Ministries International Inc. was born out of fasting and prayer, a need for true worship and with a mandate to minister to the spiritual and social needs of the community.

In February 2001, a group of saints gathered to seek God’s direction through prayer and fasting. In one of the prayer sessions, God spoke through our late Bishop Roy Coleman telling him, “history begins tonight” and that it should be recorded. Following that revelation, an executive board consisting of six members was formed. Extensive and careful planning was done to identify ministries and people to serve. The church was officially registered and we went in search of a building. This was a challenge because we had no budget. The executive members sowed seeds into the ministry and God did the rest. This was proof that where there is a purpose, God makes provision.

On Saturday March 10, 2001, we leased a building at 3667 White Plains Road, which needed repairs. The brethren rose to the challenge, working thirteen hours non-stop, from Saturday March 10th at 12noon until Sunday March 11th at 1:00am. They completed the mammoth task.

On March 11, 2001 at 11:00am, Lighthouse Ministries International Inc. was launched. With twenty members in attendance, we had a consecrated prayer session and held our first Divine Worship Service. Within one month we out grew that building and God made yet another provision at 3645 White Plains Road.

On October 4th 2008 we dedicated our present Sanctuary at 1591 East 233 Street to the Lord, this awesome move was by God’s direct intervention, as our talented members again rose to the challenge and transformed this building into a beautiful edifice for worship to God.

Over the next several years, we experienced physical and spiritual growth and changes in the church body. Because of the goodness of God and His continued blessings, we launched forward with the determination to fulfill the mandate that begun at the inception of the ministry.

On October 17, 2008, our beloved Bishop Roy Coleman went home to be with the Lord. He was a great man of God, a visionary, and an exemplary leader. Bishop Coleman epitomized a great teacher and expounded the Word of God with clarity. The ministry continues to address the spiritual and emotional needs of the community, transforming lives for Christ. The mission – “Preparing Tomorrows Leaders Today” which was the heart of our Bishop, will continue. This mandate to prepare not only the physical man but also the spiritual man, will go on under the leadership of Pastor Navlett Coleman.
